The New Sounds Of Nigerian Music

Hello,Dia mi!

I trust that you have been doing well. It's a new month and a new chance for many of us to crush those amazing goals, right?

What have you been up to? As for me,I have been listening to a whole lot of songs. My playlist is full of new sounds that I'm absolutely loving. I decided to share them with you๐Ÿ˜.

The corona virus pandemic has forced all of us to stay at home more than we would love to. Fortunately, this has helped many artists to hone their craft. Nowadays, songs are more about the lyrics than the beat.(Shaking a table๐Ÿ˜‚)

To be very honest, most Nigerian songs are about the beat. We love to listen to the beat because it lifts our mood and keeps us motivated. We had less time on our hands which made it easy to ignore lyrics.

With more time on our hands,we can now listen to song lyrics patiently and with meaning. We prefer slower tunes with deep interpretations. Suddenly,a lockdown music revolution became the next big thing.

In few months,we have moved from ear-banging club music to sultry, sweet music. Songs topping the charts now are alte and afrobeats music. A popular example is the Duduke we all love (Winks).

Luckily for music lovers,we have a lot of new sounds to satisfy our current cravings. There's Joeboy,Rema,Fire boy,Tems,Chike,Ladipoe,Simi and many more. These singers are the exciting, vibrant sounds giving us good feels.

What do you think about the new music trend? Do you feel it's unexpected or timely? I would love to know the new sounds you're listening to. Let's have a chat in the comments section.

With love,
Peperempe.

  1. Dia, how can you list 7 Nigerian artistes and mention 5 of my favorites in it?๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฉ

There was a time I totally ignored the local Music for foreign tunes, but now, I must say the tables are turning in the Nigerian music industry and it's good for the ears. Thanks to the revolution by these new lads who have chosen to identify with those of us who mind the lyrics and pay little attention to the beats.

I'm amazed by the transition of afrobeats and alte ( 9ja alternative) genre into world mainstream sounds. Nigerians are making lyrical content a priority these days plus solid productions. It can only get better. Shoutout to rema, tems, simi and burna boy...BTW y'all watch out for burna's next album.

Are You A Failure?

Hello, Dia mi๐Ÿ˜Š! It has been a long week over here and I'm genuinely excited to be having this conversation with you today. Did your week go well? Dia mi, when last did you fail? Do you think you're a failure? Before you answer these questions, I want you to take a deep breath and think about all those past mistakes carefully. I'm not even kidding. How can you appreciate success if you never fail? How can you be relevant if you never fail? If you think this is some motivational speech, you're wrong.  I have thought about it over and over again. Why did I fail at this project? Why did I have bad grades in this course? Why did I give up halfway on that dream? Does this mean I'm a failure? If this sounds like you, those failures didn't happen by chance. It was a result of the actions you took or failed to take as you were aiming for that goal. It could have been any of these: 1. Your Self-discipline: Let's be honest, self discipline is a problem most of us face...

Sounds unbelievable, right? I understand you, trust me. Have you ever wondered what holds the strong relationships we see around?. Dia mi,a lot of things come in other than love.
