The Therapeutic Part Of Books

Hello,Dia mi!

I am so excited to see you today. I've been bursting with it for a while now. However,I'm glad to know that you have been thriving during my absence♥️.
Is reading therapy? I've always loved books and proclaimed it to the world. But could it actually help me? Can it help you? Thankfully, books are one of the most wonderful things ever created.
Books can be a form of therapy. In actual fact,it has now become a field called bibliotherapy. Bibliotherapy is recommending a reading list for someone based on the issues and personality of the individual. It is also using books as a medium of healing.

Books help you to empathize, self reflect and understand yourself better. When you read extensively, you get to meet characters who faced what you face and got healing. You get a deep conviction that it is possible for you. You feel a strong connection to that character. It gives you hope. There are also non fiction books that deal with mental health issues.

Books as therapy has been always been existent, right from the olden days. They let you know that you are understood and recognized. It reminds you that you matter because you are only one of  your kind. An ancient king once had a room full of books labelled "House of healing for the soul." Isn't that amazing?

Books help to release emotional tension from the reader. The inner peace they carry in their words have a great healing power. Books also enable you to embark on an imaginative journey. You travel to different worlds in the comfort of your room. You envision how your life can be. You see the future through the eyes of the writer.

Bibliotherapy is however not a treatment on it's own but can serve as a part of treatment by therapists.
It is presumed to help patients who are uncomfortable talking about themselves. It helps them to open up using a book character similar to their personality.

Books with graphics can also serve as theraphy to kickstart reading for those who don't really like it. However,it has been difficult to find appropriate books for children with these problems. Research has however proved that visual books have helped people with mental health issues and developmental problems.

Books have helped me a lot. It has given me insights into different personalities and perspectives. I have learnt about various world issues through fiction, memoirs and biographies.I have understood what it means to be depressed, lose a loved one and survive violence without actually experiencing it. It has opened my mind to depths I thought I could never reach. Books have become my safe and happy place.

Books can help you in seeing the world differently. Just in case you haven't started this amazing journey,I have a gift for you. I curated a little something for you to start your therapeutic journey. Here they are!

Therapeutic reading list

Read a book today. Explore and stimulate your mind. Have conversations about it. Get into the character. Feel, love and live ♥️.

With love,
Peperempe.

Are You A Failure?

Hello, Dia mi๐Ÿ˜Š! It has been a long week over here and I'm genuinely excited to be having this conversation with you today. Did your week go well? Dia mi, when last did you fail? How can you appreciate success if you never fail? How can you be relevant if you never fail? If you think this is some motivational speech, you're wrong.  I have thought about it over and over again. Why did I fail at this project? Why did I have bad grades in this course? Why did I give up halfway on that dream? Does this mean I'm a failure? If this sounds like you, those failures didn't happen by chance. It was a result of the actions you took or failed to take as you were aiming for that goal. It could have been any of these: 1. Your Self-discipline: Let's be honest, self discipline is a problem most of us face...
