Hello, Dia mi😊! It has been a long week over here and I'm genuinely excited to be having this conversation with you today. Did your week go well?
I'm not even kidding. How can you appreciate success if you never fail? How can you be relevant if you never fail? If you think this is some motivational speech, you're wrong.
Dia mi, when last did you fail? Do you think you're a failure? Before you answer these questions, I want you to take a deep breath and think about all those past mistakes carefully.
I have thought about it over and over again. Why did I fail at this project? Why did I have bad grades in this course? Why did I give up halfway on that dream? Does this mean I'm a failure? If this sounds like you, those failures didn't happen by chance. It was a result of the actions you took or failed to take as you were aiming for that goal. It could have been any of these:
1. Your Self-discipline:
Let's be honest, self discipline is a problem most of us face. You promise to check Twitter for 10 minutes and end up spending 3 hours on it. Don't feel too bad, I do it too😂.
You can't block distractions. Every distraction is welcome to you because that task is too hard. You give up too quickly on your goals because you don't see the point in it. So you fail! But does this really mean you're a failure?
2.Your Planning:
Planning has a lot to do with success or failure. If you plan carefully, you can always go back to the drawing board and see where you went wrong. On the other hand, not planning can disrupt that big dream.
3.Your Sense of Worth
You might have failed because you don't believe you deserve the outcome of that goal. You failed that test because the course seemed too hard to pass. You didn't shoot your shot at that opportunity because you were certain you wouldn't get in.
4. Your networking skills
I used to think I could achieve all my goals without the help of anyone. So I failed countless times. Familiar, right?
I discovered that I needed people to achieve these goals. I needed their support, love, criticism and advice. Without these people, I wouldn't even think the way I think now. How are you cultivating those relationships?
Dia mi, I have a lot of things to say to you which I don't think can be said in this conversation. I'll be saving them for your next conversation.
Have you thought about the questions I asked you when we started this conversation? It would make me really happy if you let me know what your answers are in the comment section.
One more thing, are you really sure you're a failure? Or is it just your imagination? You'll find out in our next conversation.
With love,
Peperempe💙
